Hi everyone,

I had a terrible algae outbreak and the tank was filled with green hair algae all over the rocks, sand and glass.

Anyways, to make a long story short, I researched and found lettuce nudibranch (Elysia Crispata) and sea hare (Dolabella Auricularia) and how they are great at mowing down the algae. I went to my LFS and they agreed to let me have it and return the sea hare after it completed its mission.

Its only been 4 hours since I put the sea hare in the tank and it definitely does its job. But at the same time, it poops like a machine! My sand has so many little poop pellets the size of rabbit food. I was wondering if any people have the same experience with sea hare? What did you guys do about the poop? Because I hope it doesn't screw over my parameters. I don't have a protein skimmer, but I do run a media basket with filter floss, chemipure blue, and purigen.

Anyways, should I siphon it out daily? or just wait till I do my weekly wc in order to siphon out all that crap?

Thanks.

FYI- I know this is just a short fix and I need to get to the root of the problem. So here is my parameters. Any comments would be helpful.

ammonia-0
nitrite-0
nitrate-0
magnesium-1280
alkalinity-8dkh
calcium-450
I am waiting for my salifert phosphate kit to arrive, so I'm clueless on my phosphates at the moment.

I saw Hermie Hermit Crab eating Dolly Dolobella's poo... So, there hasn't been a lot of buildup...

Up to you as far as you do it.

However, it is normal, so don't be worried. Mine leaves piles around my nori rock every night
