I got a sea hare today and I am a little concerned. It has been 3 hours post acclimation and it has not moved. I floated the bag. Tested sg which matched so I only driped for 30 min to help it get used to other parameters.

No. No one seems interested so I don't think it is dead... yet. Just worried I did something wrong. I tried three a few years ago and they all died. I learned later my cleaner likely killed them. There is not a cleaner in this tank so I was hoping it would work out this time.

I am not a sea hare expert but as long as the CUC is not eating it, it is probably alive
Sorry to say but I have no idea if it is sick or not. I am sure someone on here will no what to do and good luck

Well here is a pic to help. I don't have a good feeling...

Yeah it won't take care of hair algae your better off buying twenty hermits

Use a peroxide dip on all those frags and let the sea hare work on it elsewhere in the tank..
Maybe he don't like egg crate

Hmm never thought of that. I'll go put him on a rock. I'll be honest I didn't get him as a solution to the problem. I like sea hares and figured this would give him a good meal.

My sea hare sits pretty still during the day/when it's not eating. He will sit hours motionless and then take off again.
As far as GHA, mine is like a goat! I pick him up and put him in a patch of hair algae and he starts going to town. I am actually starting to lend him out to reef club members to keep him fed because he has picked my tank clean except for my overflow box.

Unfortunately it did not make it.
I think it was dead from the start just would take time to smell and attract cuc. Something must have shocked it. I did the flip test to be sure...

I'm very sorry :(

Sorry. In the short time I have had mine, I have really gotten attached.
I am thinking of taking an old apple juice 1/2 gallon jug and 'seeding' it with some GHA from my overflow box and putting it in the sun for a few days to try to grow him some more food.

I'm very sorry :(
Thank you. I am beginning to think I am just not supposed to have these guys even for a short while. I might give it one more shot in this tank. I am 99% sure the others died thanks to the cleaner. This one I am baffled. Didn't move even once in the bag during acclimation or at all in the tank. Can they die of shock from being scooped out of water? If the next one doesn't live more than a week I am swearing them off for good.

What are your nitrates? From what I read, they are sensitive to them.
