I kinda figured. I want to start auto dosing like Tropic marin or something like that and saw this. I have a 25gal AIO so I Would have to figure out how much of that block I could use at one time right?

Don’t think this is a good option for you. Stick with tp or 2 part.

I used to use these but could no longer find them anymore
Got them from fosters and smith

The claims are ludicrous. Even if it did something useful, I would never support this company due to this sort of false advertising.

"Sea-Lab #28 restores and maintains the concentration of calcium, strontium and all trace elements at the same levels found in the sea, automatically. Formula #28 always works, and cannot be overdosed. This is not a slow-dissolve or time-release product. It dissolves only to replace depleted elements."

What false advertisement? My friend just got this. He’s doing 10% on top of it as usual and now corals look much better.

I use these on my 75 gallon, before this on my 46 bowfront. I never have to dose magnesium or calcium, used them for 6 years and still do water change 10% weekly. Had no problems with this stuff ever. Everything including my 7 inch clam is growing well. I like it and works well for me. I still have to dose alkalinity.

I have never auto-dosed, for your tank one block could last a couple weeks. When you get your mag and cal readings if they are low drop one in and check results. I swear, I stopped dosing cal and mag for years. Your size tank water changes should be enough to maintain cal and mag. I've seen on here where an auto-doser malfunctions and dumps all contents into tank and destroys everthing. I would rather be low on mag/cal and manually dose when needed then rely on automation, I guess that is useful when away from tanks for many days.

I have used these in the past with mixed success. They definitely keep cal and mag elevated. IME too much so. I stopped using them when my Cal regularly read 600+ and mag 1500+. Beyond that, it contains many things that we cannot test for without an ICP test. I would rather dose 2 part and/or Kalk, than dose to unknown levels of some things and lose control of others.

Yes it does get high, mine has never gone that high. Maybe because of weekly water changes?!

Perhaps the salt used impacts this as well. I have always been consistent with water changes. Typically 20%+ every other week.

There goes that theory. :) I have always use IO/RC as well. I switched to HW marinemix Reefer for my new build, but don't use the SeaLab #28 in it.
I have no complaints, all corals and my clam grow just fine. I even have a branching sps that got huge in my 46 until the hermits started tearing it apart. Upgrade to 75 and fragged everything.
