Sea Lettuce / Ulva issues - did I make a mistake?

I got some for my fuge from algae barn- mostly because everyone was out or chaeto
Now im seeing it somehow grow from the rock in my display
My nutrients are super low - which is another problem for another thread

Should I round this stuff up and get it out of my tank and just go with the chaeto and my red ogo?

Ulva can quickly get out of control if not maintained properly imo

No snails in your system?

I have snails, but no turbo - was advised against them because they're such bulldozers.

Also no rabbit fish - I have a 125 so I'm worried they'd be a bit big - any thoughts on those?

I just removed all of my ulva/sea lettuce from my fuge

I would get something to eat it. Ulva can sexually reproduce and result in seaweed growing on everything

Wish you good luck. Cannot get rid of it in my 20g. I've noticed fluconazole slows it down to a standstill during the bryopsis treatments I've done. Bad news is that the ulva starts right back up after treatment. None of my snails touch it. I might try saltwater mollies next.

Mine made it's way into the display tank from the fuge. The good thing is I mostly have tangs. In another tank with clowns and nems though, it started taking over the rockwork. I pulled it all out and bulked up on Trochus snails. I won't be putting it in any of my tanks again.

Where did you find them? I haven't seen any in a while.

I just ordered some cowries from reef cleaners - they're called "money cowries" there.

The Ulva infestation isn't too bad yet - I'll do some manual removal off rocks to help keep it down.

The good news is that my nutrients are fairly low so with my fuge going it shouldn't get too bonkers.

It's not a TERRIBLE infestation as herbivores love it. A one spot foxface should be fairly comfortable in a 125 and will eat it voraciously
