I have a sea slug/hare that doesn't look so hot. I picked him up yesterday and overnight something happened. I have had him for less than 15 hours. I have taken him out of the tank for the time being.

Here are a couple of pictures.

If anyone knows what happened and why it looks like that it would be helpful. He didn't make it.

Do you have crab or cleaner shrimps?? He was attacked likely by either and as Much as I hate to say, will not heal and died. If you can get it back for a credit try otherwise plan on discarding soon.....and unless threatened by large anemone or similar will not expel ink as many say

I have a pistol shrimp, a horse shoe crab, 3 green chromis, clownfish, snails, and a conch. I did not see any of those being harmful.

When they starve, they tend to split open like that and kind of explode. How much is it eating? A sea hare that size could easily clear a 10 gallon full of GHA in a few days. Could also be in shock to new water parameters. As a rule of thumb, always check your water chemistry to look for culprits, then move on to other ideas

Do not buy them and that other persons horseshoe crab will probably die when food becomes scarce do not buy them either.

They split open and ink your tank. Very poisonous , mine did that because a cleaner shrimp annoyed him and killed all my fish a long time ago .
