Are these two fluffy white balls sea sponges? Also is it harmless or should I remove? I noticed these fluffy white balls in my tank are starting to populate here and there

These are pineapple sponge and often associated with newer tanks and are short lived. They thrive from silicates often found in new sand or di resin from RODI units

Yes. They scrape off easily with edge of a credit card if you get tired of looking at them
