Is a sand shifting sea star or brittle stars dangerous to put in tanks with Tridacna clams? I would like to add some animals that will feed off of detritus and fish waste without exposing my clams to danger and turn over my sand bed.. can anyone give me some advice??
I did have a Yellow head go by that did a excellent job but he started to grab mouthfulls of sand and then swim over to my clams and deposit the sand on them, way too dangerous..
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would not consider either an issue with a Tridacna. Now if a giant clam is already on the downward death spiral that might attraction a start fishes attention.

I have 2 sand sifting starfish and a derasa clam, they've been in the same tank for months, no problems at all
