My blue tuxedo urchin just died and I am wondering if anyone here has ever tried to remove the “shell” from within an urchin. The pattern on it is quite nice and I belive it would look really cool in my tank. If anyone has suggestion on how to go about doing this I would love to hear them! Thanks

I have an urchin shell y they are very delicate and easy to break I did not get mine I bought mine it was filled with stuff to keep it from breaking.

We had our pin cushion die months ago and didn't notice any spikes. It does look nice in the tank.

I had a quite a few urchins come in with my live rock when I set up the tank a few years ago. A few of them have died over the years, but my pincushion urchin picks up their shells and carries them around. My son thinks it’s a little creepy that he’s carrying around his dead relatives.
