My sea urchin is lying on its back. Is he dying? Or is there still hope? He hasn't lost any spikes yet...

I'd say it's probably toast, but hopefully others will chime in. Are the spines moving/reacting to touch?

Probably dead, has spine loss, is there enough algae for it to eat? Even if the do fall they do not stay on their back long and will flip right over

Hello Peter, no, so far I haven't tried to turn him over again, because I thought that if he's healthy, he could do it on his own... He fell out of my hand when I put it in... the spikes still react to touch. Yesterday he once fell off the reef and also came up again by himself... should i turn him over?

Could have he fallen off the glass? Have you tried flipping him back over?
