So im on vacation in Phi Phi Island and went snorking for videos of fishes/corals and got stung bad by a black/brown sea urchin. Got 7 spline in my foot/toe area, was quit a painful experience and cut my snorkeling trip short. Tour guide said it will go away itself. Ive read about vinegar but ill have to try to find somewhere around here that sells it. Any other recommendation to help out? Pain has gone away but my foot is numb lol. This is only day 2 of 3 week vacation.

The tour guide probably knows best. Ive been stung before. I just removed the spines and cleaned the area with some soap and water and it eventually went away. Just keep it clean and if it doesn't go away soon or if it gets any worse, call the doctor.

It all depends on the sting, if it gets infected, you have an allergic reaction and your body’s defense mechanism. My Aunt got stung by an Urchin in St. Thomas(Caribbean), and had to go to the hospital due to infection and a tetanus shot to boot.
Hopefully it is nothing and you won’t have anything to worry about.
