Hey everyone, I was just hitting a bunch of Aiptasia with Aiptasia-X. During this, I noticed my Sea Urchin releasing a white cloud. As this is the first time i witnessed this I'm concerned/curious. Just want to make sure it won't harm my other inhabitants. Please help if you have experience with this.

Put him outside the tank and the cloud is settled in this pic.

It is harmless. Mine does it all the time. Well, he does it alot, probably two or more times a month that I see. It has never had a negative effect on anything in my tank and I have a little bit of everything.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I'll put him back in lol. I was worried it was some sort of defense mechanism of mass destruction.

Mine has done it when nothing was out of the ordinary but I have also witnessed him do that when I had my arm in the tank and he probably didn't like it. He finally started munching on sps so I had to banish him to the settling tank. He will live a happy, fat life of eating seawood rubber banded to a rock unless I decide to place him back in the display. I can't make myself give him away because he is my favorite critter.

I just re-read your original post. Be careful that you are not trying to kill too many aiptasia at once and making your pH drop.
