So I have a white pincushion sea urchin. He has now started become red where his mouth is. Almost like a blood red. He was not this way before. I’m not sure what is going on. He has moved very little today also

What are current water conditions in terms of parameters?
How long has it been in the tank?
How long has this tank been running?
Are you dosing anything?

Tank has been running for 6 months, he’s been in there for a couple months. Water conditions are fine. Within normal parameters. I just checked on him. And he literally exploded. I just had to clean him out of the tank.

sorry to hear, change out your carbon, add new change again in 48 hrs

I haven't dealt with that specific species of urchin, but I used to work in an aquarium and when we had Strongylocentrotus purpuratus aka pacific purple sea urchin, when they lost color like that in their test, it would be a sign that they were dying. I can't say why it looks like that but just my two cents.
