I added in some sea weed with a clip, and none of my fish have gone near it and don't seem to notice it for that matter. What should I do?

What kind of fish do you have? Not all will eat it.
Also, many fish need to learn to eat it from another fish that already knows it or they may accidentally nip at it and realize it’s edible before they eat it readily.

What fish are you trying to feed? I have a young Scribbled Rabbitfish that had no clue what nori was. I put some out every day for weeks. Then I got a Kole Tang. The Rabbitfish figured it out when the Kole Tang started eating it. I am sure there are lots of fish out there that will eat it but in my experience, only true herbivores will eat it consistently. Example... I have a cherub angelfish that pecks algae off the rocks but won’t touch nori. Go figure!

would maybe dropping in a few small bite size pieces help with this then? Once the fish realize what it is, maybe they'll start nibbling at the bigger chunks?

I have a clownfish pair, yellow tang and a coral beauty.

I always soaked the nori in some of the frozen food "juice" I feed my fish with to get them to at least recognize the smell to something they are already familiar eating. Other than that it just seems that Nori takes some time for fish to realize it's food. Just put small pieces in the clip and change out daily.

The yellow tang and coral beauty are the only ones that will probably eat it. You could try putting some nori on a rock first, sometimes the plastic clip scares them and they won’t go near it until they know it’s used to hold the food. Other than that, I second using small pieces and changing it out until they eat it.

Yea.... rubber band a piece to a rock. Sometimes that works. FWIW, I’ve never seen a clown eat nori. Doesn’t mean it’s not possible, fish surprise me often. Like today when I caught my Rabbitfish eating one of my brain corals.;Dead

Rubber band the nori to a piece of rubble rock and let a longer piece hang out to wave around. Place it in a spot that your tank hangs out a lot.

He will figure it out and learn where and what it is

Then, after he is eating it for a few days, you can move it to your clip

I personally rubberband mine to a rock and place it in the tank and do not use a clip.

Just seems more natural and the crabs get some too[emoji57]
