Seabae Anemone was added About two weeks ago. I added some photos. Seabae looked great but moved many times. I found a spot where it’s kinda low flow. It’s tentacles look like they are smaller and kind of shriveled up. Third photo is today. Help and some advice.
Thanks!!!

Tank is new my man, should’ve started with live rock. There’s a chance with live rock you can keep it but even then the chances are lower than a matured tank.

How old is tank? What are your parameters? What type of light are you using

It does look like a newer tank, but sebae are tough critters. It also looks bleached, so will need some serious stability for parameters and time to recover.

If your tank is all over the place, I recommend finding the nem a new home and waiting until tank has found a happy place with stability.

If it is stable, keep it that way and give it time.

Go ahead and list params, lighting and age. If you have a record of params over time, list them also. This will help determine if you can let the nem stay or rehome it.

It does need to be noted again, stability and proper water parameters are key. Nems can make it in new tanks if it is done correctly, but lots of work keeping things stable will be needed.

I was hoping that wasn’t the issue but I was told it would be no issue but the store selling it to me. Tank is almost 6 months old. Anything I can do? Does it looked stressed or is this a sign of dying?

6 months is better than just cycled.

List params and what test kits you are using. We can go from there.

I’m going to test this morning and post results. Last week test all looked great. I will list them. Thinking about it I did tune back my lights about a week ago due to a alge outbreak. I just have two 135 Vistapar lights. Turned whites from 3 back to 1. Blues 25. Whites were always at 1 until a month ago I turned them up. All soft corals are rocking right now no matter the whites. Not issues at all.

thanks!

with the lack of algae on your rock I’ll go for not enough light or your Parms are swinging to much. Look for other corals in your tank like zoas if they’re reaching for light.

Parms are staying solid each test. I’m guessing lighting and being a newer tank is my issue. It’s my guess. I have 1 Duncan- two heads and now growing another head, Zoas that are taking off like crazy, 1 leather growing great, GSP, a Favia- looks the same only three weeks old.

No more help can be provided without parameters. However your lighting is also really low. I ran black boxes before at 20/60. Don't change anything until parameters are listed though.

Some pics with whites on taken just now.

If everything is staying stable and po4/no3 are not crazy high. The nem might stand a chance.

Still need to know params, even from a few previous tests. This will help see if anything odd sticks out.

Looking at just now and last few months numbers: Ammonia 0 has been for 4 months, Same for nitrite, under 10 for N03 as always. Alk is 8.3 only tested that for a month and has been 8- 8.6 during those test. 8 for ph always has been that reading. I’m not seeing anything drastic changes. Temp is always 78/79. Salinity has been recorded since the start at 1.025. One time .026. 2 week 15g W/C out of a 75.

Numbers don’t look bad. .6 swing in alk isn’t bad at all either.
You say you have zoas, can you get a pic of them for us. They can be used to get a rough estimate on light. Just need to know where they are in the tank in relation to the lights.

I know it is not exact science there, but can still be a rough indicator of too much or too little.

Looks like an API master kit set of tests. Need to know phosphate also.

They are close to each other. Zoas have definitely multiplied. I’ve had those for two months now. When I turned up the intensity of the light from 1 to 3 it did not make a difference with the Zoas.

Unfortunately when I ordered my salifert kits that one came in damaged the phosphate last month and I had to return it in the mail and it says they sent out a new one to me. Should be here after the weekend is what the tracking number says. Unfortunately I neglected to test that prior.

Lights are 6 inches from the water surface. Tank is approximately 21 inches tall and the anemone is about 6 inches from the bottom.
