Seachem alert badge almost on alert. Tot

I don’t. The badges are nice because they give you a constant test. Ammonia can creep up quickly and this way you don’t have to test twice a day.

Now that you know it is there you can take action before it reaches critical levels.
That’s just the thing dude ammonia readings on the badge have been stable for a week. Seachem says that the badge will display ammonia increase within 15 min. Also stated that the badge takes 4 hours to go from alert back to safe. So idk haha was just wondering from the chemist if in this situation given the bio load that maybe .02-.05 or total ammonia would be common to see going up and down and since the badge takes 4 hours to display 0 ammonia that maybe I’m just never seeing the ammonia going down maybe just seeing the little spikes that MAYBE commonly go up and down threw the day with this amount of water with this amount of fish but MAN that’s a lot of maybes haha either way when in doubt water change I know but my gut tells me everything is fine. The fish eat 3 sometimes 4 small meals a day with no signs of ammonia burns.if it wasn’t for the badge I would have no concerns

Something to remember with these badges is that they have a tendency to look blue/green in indirect light. They should be read in direct light (I often take my cell phone flashlight and hold it behind my face). Mine look blue/green in my empty QTs because of the lightning in that room. However, when read in direct light (also viewed directly, not through angled glass) the badges are yellow.

+1
I use my my phones flashlight as well, aimed at the badge’s backside or else it always looks light blue haha
