Well I guess the PH is for fresh water only....
 
The ammonia alert badge shouldn't be needed in a fully cycled tank since there shouldn't be any ammonia in there. If the tank is cycling and you are wanting to monitor the ammonia as it goes up and then back down again, then sure! Put it in there and it will give you semi-real time readings. Mostly I use those for QT to keep an eye on ammonia.
