Seachem matrix?

Would I be able to add seachem matrix to one of these cartridges? I am thinking of buying 3. 2 would hold filter floss in the front. 1 would hold matrix. I would have an empty space for chemi pure. I have a penguin 350. Also would I then remove the 2 bio wheels?

Matrix comes out looking like various sized pebbles. I put mine into media bags so I didn’t really worry about size. I don’t think any were bigger than 1” diameter. So the holder might work depending upon actual size. Hope this is helpful

I have media bags I could just put the matrix in. Is it OK to be submerged in water?

Yes. My understanding is that it can be submerged. I have mine in a media bag in my sump at the bubble trap
