Hi
A built a new vivarium and everything was working fine. I have a 800gph pump for the waterfalls, and a few more little pumps for the ato and a wayer vhanging system.
I added some of seachems phosguard and a day later all the pumps are significantly waeker.
Any ideas what this can be about?

How much did you add and why did you add it?

Did you add it loose to the system?

Hi
I added according to the amount written on the packaging.
I added because the waterfalls were getting this brown color bec of the silicates.

What you are seeing are diatoms feeding off the silicates. Normal in new tank.
Your pumps might be slightly impacted from the biofilm and algae building up.

Are you using 0ppm DI water and did you happen to rinse your sand really well before placing in tank?
It will go away on its own over time but you must remove the excess silicates.
The phosguard will also bind your phosphate to a dangerously low level so please keep an eye on it.

But what could be the reason that all the pumps all of the sudden became significantly weaker 12 hours after I added the phosguard

I did. They look the same no algee build up.
Wouldn't it be easier to look inside one of the pumps than have a bunch of people speculate why on the internet?
