Hope this isn't a stupid question but I wanted to get iodine levels back higher after having activated carbon that absorbed it. I'm at 0.03ppm and the target is 0.06ppm. Wondering what's in Seachem Reef Dip and if I can dose bit by bit to adjust iodine levels. I don't want to buy another bottle.

I personally do not think iodine dosing is typically useful (it wasn't in my tank).

Algae (and othar organisms) take it up, not typically GAC. The GAC binding of iodine idea comes from misunderstandings of things like the "iodine number" for GAC, which has nothing to do with binding ioduide or iodate from seawater.

If you want to dose iodine, which is a fine experiment to see for yourself if it is useful, I'd get an iodide supplement, not elemental iodine which is what is present in the dip.

Thanks for the quick reply! I’ll ignore it for now then!
