today at my local bargain hunt (love that store) I found a 4 liter bottle of Reef Fusion part 1. There was no part 2 around. The bottle is new; still sealed and I didn’t see an expiration date. I’m really new to this stuff, but I noticed that my calcium has been low (330 last week) so I figured hey why not!

So - couple questions about this. First one being, do I have to have the part 2? Alk has always been well up there, 9-10.

Second, what’s the best way to dose? How many times a week, and how much per 40 gallons?

Third, after dosing, how long before I check the calcium level to see if it’s bringing it up? Should I dose and check the same time daily?

I guess one of the most important questions also is, I paid $11.00 for it. Did I just waste my money?will this be beneficial to the zoas and palythoas?

Thanks!

No, you do not need or want the alk part for a calcium correction. Calcium is likely not critical for soft corals. I can’t say on price. Check the calcium after it mixes in. Say, an hour or so.
