I recently took my sulfur denitrator off line. Going back to carbon dousing. While I was cleaning the denitrator I was thinking if I could fill it with seachems Matrix or denitrator and use it as a reactor in that way. Since it is a recirculating reactor will it work as a place for bacteria to colonize to battle nitrate with control of the output and making a low oxygen zone. Am I wasting my time?

No I use it on all of my systems it works good but just make sure to follow the flow instruction!
