I purchased the SeaClone 100 protein skimmer for my 28 gallon reef tank when I first started it. Since then I have had some really, really nice skimate. However, I am tired of seeing all of the micro-bubbles distort the view of my tank. I don't have room for a refugium, and I truly don't feel the need for one.

Is there anyway that I can get rid of all of these micro-bubbles? Whether it be general tricks, or specifically pertaining to the SeaClone 100?

got to fiddle with the air line. there is a sweet spot with no bubbles and still skims
close your air line just a tiny bit a fraction and give it a while to adjust. repeat if it doesnt help

So should I start with the air line completely open? I have begun with having it closed as tight as possible...

the spot is closer to closed then fully open.

Could try fully closing it so no bubbles at all...open super slow until you get micro bubbles flowing in the tank and then start closing from that point.

What's your budget? I was able to find a decent CPR bakpak on CL for less than $75. I've never used a Seaclone, but they have a pretty notorious reputation in the hobby...along with the SuperSkimmer which I once owned..and overflowed onto my floor if you looked at it wrong.

What is a CPR bakpak? (Kinda a newbie-ish)

It's a HOB, Hang on Back, protein skimmer. CPR is the name of the company that manufactures the PS. They're pretty good skimmers. With the SeaClone, it's going to be tough not having bubbles but it does get better after the PS is broken in. Also, the CPR has the pump built into it so you won't have the added heat and unsightly pump in your tank. JME
