Hey guys!

I currently have a 47 gallon column tank with a seaclone 100 on it. I know seaclones get a bad rep but I have had mine for years and on several tanks and I actually think it is pretty efficient.

I am however having an issue with it right now.

I have it hanging on the back of my tank and for a few months it was running great. i was emptying the collection cup every 2-3 days. But recently there has been a large air pocket in the tube right at the base of the actual skimmer. I cant seem to figure it out. i thought it was due to improper flow from algae growing in the tube but after cleaning the tube, the problem was still there.

The skimmer now sounds like its trying to prime all day.
I also have always run it wide open with no air flow control on it; just an open ended airline tubing. Like I said, it has always worked great for me before and was on this tank until a few weeks ago.

Any insight?
