Anyone have any ideas on how to strain out the micro bubbles from a seaclone skimmer before they go into my tank ? To be more specific i have a seaclone and when i turn it on, it works fine, i get good skimate but it's a 'Hang on back' style and i have no sump so i have all these micro bubbles coming from the skimmer into my tank and it does not look appealing. I've tried putting a piece of filter floss over the output but it backs up the flow and floods out the top of the skimmer... Any ideas would be very helpful.
Thanks

Check to be sure the bubbles are coming from the return and not the pump itself these are powered by maxi-jets and sometimes the intake on the bottom of the pump does not get seated right and release bubbles into the tank. The cover over the impeller has an o ring and a little silicone rubbed on them will stop bubbles from leaking out around them.

You could try attaching a piece of filter floss or sponge to the bottom of output spillway with zip ties. If it isn't jammed right into the exit, it should allow enough flow to prevent overflow while still breaking up the bubbles. Another thing to try if you're fairly handy with DIY projects is to make a box out of acrylic for the return to spill into. Cut a weir comb into the top rim of the box and it should give the bubbles a chance to settle prior to the water escaping into the tank.
