My expertise is with predatory fish, but any carnivore can beneifit from the dead foods I feed. For omnivores and herbivores you can mix in algaes, whether live which would be great, like caulerpa, gracallaria, or ulva. Here's a list of the dead foods I use and why.

Probably around 9 months or so. I feed it white worms that I keep a few cultures of going. It will occasionally take a bite of food that isn’t live worms, but most of the time spits it back out.

start mixing other stuff like PE mysis in with the worms. Mine started on only black worms which were a huge PITA. He went from live only to frozen worms mixed w/ PE mysis to mysis only. Now I can throw any frozen blend in and he will eat it. working on getting him to eat pellets now, he'll occasionally eat one without spitting it out but its not reliable.

When I feed the tank I mix the worms with my thawed diy frozen food. He will occasionally take a bite of food that isn’t the worms but he spits it back out most of the time.
So far other than being a little bit annoying keeping worm cultures going it hasn’t been an issue that he only eats live worms reliably.

Mine will eat frozen mysis and stuff too, but he goes crazy for oyster. I buy about a pound of live oyster from my grocery store and freeze them (lasts him a couple of months)
