does anybody have seahorse experience here i just got a 15 gallon column tank in hopes of seahorses it should be just big enough for a pair of tiger tail seahorse i want this kind because its is 30-50$ not 80-100$ and a mandarin goby i just started the tank 4 days ago with a few small hitching posts and some live sand i also have a 30-60 gallon canister filter please let me know where to go from there thank you(-:
 
oh and it will be filled with all kinds of macro algae that is my substitute for coral

For a tall tank like that I would add more hitching posts that come up most of the tank's height. They will now hang on to the wire of that powerhead but you may want something better looking.
When I used to raise seahorses I would take strings and put a small weight on the bottom like a plastic nut and a float on the other end like a small cork so the horses could hang out all day as they don't like swimming much.
I would also have a large supply of live brine shrimp to get them eating while you try to wean them onto frozen Mysis.
I collected this pair in the Atlantic in New York. The female here is transferring eggs to the male's pouch.

And like you were told on that other forum, that tank is too small for a mandarin. Please don't try it.
 
Here is a photo of my 18 gallon with Reidi horse . I have a lot of Halimeda which works well. The gorgonian is more for decoration. She does hitch to the Kenya.
I have only one clown Gobi in the tank and will be adding another Reidi when available. Stock up on meds and read about seahorse diseases beforehand.
