Hey y’all I have a seahorse tank I am beginning to cycle and have a couple questions. First off is my sans bed of approximately 2 inches some parts just under 2 inches to deep? And secondly do I need live rock or can I get away with just the live sand and coral branches?

It all depends on your tank size. If it's a larger tank 2" will probably look fine. On a smaller tank it might look a bit high. Ultimately it comes down to how you like it.

You should be fine with the sand and coral branches, although you may want some rock from an aesthetic standpoint.

I already switched in biomedia from my display tank into this cycling one. However would it speed up the process if I added a love rock from my tank as well?

For cycling, yes.

Don’t use live rock, just add pods and phytoplankton on the base of dead rock .

what filtration do you have ?
any weave makers? They are the “natural seahorses predator in a fish tank “

I have no wave maker just a Fluval flex filtration system with skimmer

I am using dry rock to not add any unwanted creatures to my new tank. SHOUOD I buy trigger coke pods and dose that?

Just live phytoplankton and copepods, u can add anphipods too .

Would you recommend i go for sand sifting starfish or snails for stirring the sand? I was thinking about a mandarin goby down the rode to possibly get one fish in this tank

Sand sifting starfish need a mature tank, I’ll go for some nassarius …
Or a two spotted goby .

I have always loved a mandarin goby have you ever owned one before? When my tank is mature I want to add a mandarin and a sand sifter

Mandarin is a beautiful fish , but need a lot of pods for the mandarin…
I’m planning to have a couple of splendidus, red female and blue male.
maybe this year I’ll go for them .

I am still cycling my tank and have my
Biomedia from my other tank cycling. I have the temperature at 75 degree. ph is about 8.0. Salinity is 1.028
Nitrate is .2ppm
