Hi Everyone,

I currently have a 46 gallon saltwater aquarium that I has been up and running since October 19'. Everything is running great in that tank and have had no real problems! I am looking to start a saltwater tank for seahorses. I have been watching plenty of videos for seahorses, but am looking to get some more information before I continue with my purchase. If you could give me some good feedback on how/what I should be using for equipment.

I am really looking for

tank size:
Lighting - May add corals eventually, but have my other tank that is holding the corals currently.
Type of seahorses - looking for easy to care:
Wave maker:
Any other important information I should know:

The more the information the better for me! I want to be well prepared before I take on seahorses. I am looking for two as well! Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it!

@vlangel has multiple threads here referencing seahorses and there is also a seahorse/pipefish forum. Hope this helps :)

I think for 1 seahorse they recommend at minmum a 30g tank, a tall/hexigonal tank is more suitable than a standard rectangle. Low flow, something that creates a very gentle gyre effect may be best. You may want to just invest in a black box which will provide a full spectrum and can support corals later if needed, or just go high quality reef lighting if you want. They need tall things to grip so if you arent going coral, think of stable plastic plants you can secure well or some aquariums use plastic chains.
