Seahorses

Hey y’all I’ve had dwarf seahorses before I bought them when they were basically fully grown and they lived around 5-7 months. I had a batch of babies once but I was only able to keep 1/6 alive for about 6 weeks. I am considering moving onto Seahorses because there life span is better and maybe I can enjoy them more! Any tips and thoughts about these guys i saw at my LFS.

Any comments appreciated

Adults have a better life span. 3-5 years.

If you kept dwarves, you know most of the drill.

They are messy, prone to disease, and you can't have aggressive tankmates.

Any specific questions in mind?

Just about the temperature requirements and feedings. I have been feeding my dwarves selcon infused bbs but unfortunately that led to a hydroids outbreak. They have taken over my tank and are so hard to get rid since I constantly feed live bbs. Also a main reason why I want to switch to large seahorses because I can try to feed them frozen food.

I think a bit of a lower temperature is nicer for horses, so a chiller will be nice.

as for frozen, they’ll take it fine especially if CB, and a lot of people like to put them on a plate so its easy to clean up uneaten food
