My seahorses losing color. My parameters are fine. I have tried to put colorful objects in the tank, but they all turn light beige or brown. They eat well and have lived for over a year. Are there any seahorses that really stay bright yellow?

Following along.I am not sure what the triggers are for the different color variants.I have 2 Brown and one yellow seahorse.Same aquarium, same diets.

I totally understand. Unfortunately there is no sure remedy to make them stay a certain color. I too wanted colorful seahorses. My most recent seahorse build has a blue and yellow mural for a backround. (I was told that a lot of yellow seahorses are in blue tanks). Anyway I ordered and recieved 2 beautiful yellow ponies. Promptly within 2 weeks they both turned brownish beige, ha ha. Recently I bought 3 yellow sponges hoping to influence them. My female now on rare occasions colors up to a pale yellow but the male is brown to dark gray. Pigmentation is only part of the equation. You could try gut loading live artemia with vibrance from Ocean Rider. I think I read that it has some beta carotene and I know diet plays a role in it too. In the end however, the ponies have the last say!
