sealing stand

To water-protect my plywood stand I first used KILZ, followed by RUST-OLEUM paint. I hit it heavy at the seams. Others may have their own secret sauce. ;)

I used Red Guard, after it dries paint it. It's used around showers when putting tile on the walls & floor. Dries rubbery like you siliconed the whole thing.

Sand using 80 to 200 grit sandpaper. I silicon all seams and joints.
Then prime with killz.
Sand again using 200 grit sandpaper
Then I roll on Rustoleum Topside. This stuff was made for boats.
Looks amazing like you did an epoxy coat.
