I love rimless!! The top down views are amazing! The tank is a little shallow for my liking, but other than that i absolutely love it. The top is from a local butcher block shop called Bally block. This top is a scrap piece that they couldn’t use and i picked it up for 55$I have always thought rimless tanks look so slick! Definitely will be following this one! The top of the stand custom made?
I’m liking it more and more every day! Can’t wait to get the plumbing done tomorrow, and then to scape it! Shoot me some pics of your setup through PM so i can get some good ideas!Following along. I have a DSB 80 rimless edge. I'm in love with mine.
Did you order this tank from amazon? I've seen them there, but the info on the tanks was incorrect and little to no reviews on them. I like the rimless with the the bottom trim still there look.
My bad misread your first post. I just looked it up on amazon, and yes they do have some deep blue tanks. They’re overpriced from what i can tell tho. I payed 325.00 for mine.Deep Blue tanks are the ones I'm talking about, they're also sold on Amazon. I wasn't asking your opinion on Amazon's delivery service just if it was from Amazon. Amazon has amazing customer service and anything that was damaged in transit would be replaced immediately at no additional cost which is more than you can say about most aquarium manufacturers.
I was just going to use the 2x4 stand, but it looked too plain lol i totally agree that wood grain brings out the class in anything! LolI’ve never thought of using butcher block. That’s a steal. I feel like wood finishes and wood grains tie off any project and make them look classy.

I ordered it from a local fish store near me called coral reef connection. I wouldn’t take the risk of amazon shipping a tank.... their delivery service sucks. The brand of this tank is deep blue, and iv only heard good things about them. The ones on amazing i have heard of them failing because the glass is cheap.
I drilled through. I don’t like having plumbing behind the tank i like for it all to go through the bottom. Are you going to run the plumbing for the sump behing the stand or drill through? One thing I wish I would have done was leave myself enough room between the tank and walls for easier maintenance. Always a learning experience.
You'll learn to love the shallow tank when you need to reach down to the bottom and you don't need to go armpit deep.

Still, it looks great! Nice job mounting the electronics, too.
Awesome build! I like having the edge too just for the look... of the ledge was too big i would put way to much crap around the tank lol. Thanks for the compliments! Yeah I’m gonna keep it open. And i like the light on your setup! ATI is awesome! I’m planning on an ATI 48” 8 bulb for this buildWhen I was planning my last tank, one option I looked at early on was what you picked. 48x24x16. It was the closest 'standard' tank I could find to what I really wanted. I ended up ordering custom, but it was a close call. For what I paid for the extra foot in length, 6" in width, and 2" in height, I could have bought several of the DBP tanks
Great looking stand. You going to leave it open like that? Love the butcher block. I like a 'shelf' around my tanks. Looks like yours isn't really big enough to hold much... maybe a beerStill, it looks great! Nice job mounting the electronics, too.
Here's a pic of what I ended up with. Eventually, I'm going to build bookshelves to fill in under the tank.
