Is there a way to search members by location?
Ideally by city or zip code

Wow,,, that sounded creepy / stalker-y-ish

I know absolutely no one with any reef tank in my area.
LFS is like 20 minutes away and have never asked about clubs and such so, that's on me.
Really just kinda thinking would be nice to ask other locals about their opinions/experiences for certain/different possible LFS, where they buy stuff, etc.

Dream World idea for this site would be:
Have ability to search member by "distance from my location" (zip code, I guess, + xxx miles away) like many general online classifieds (private selling) sites do.
Each member would have to opt in and, if so, enter their zip code (or something to that effect).

You already found the California local thread, so great place to start - why not YOU put a thread out there asking about YOUR city and see what you get back (assuming one not already there since you say you didn't check many). Also check with your LFSs and others. You don't say where you are in California, but my local club affiliates with San Diego MAS and others.

Love the drive around looking for blue lights... my neighbors have commented we must have a LARGE TV to see lights across our backyard and thru our fence...

I've got some ideas on how to find people... but it's too stalker-y ... think hanging out at your LFS(s) talking to people will get you what you're seeking...
