I bought a pair of used Sea Sweep awhile back that came with Tunze 6205s. My plan was to use on a 200-250g future build, but that is no longer happening. I'm setting up an SCA 80g "cube". The 6205s are huge, so I was thinking of attaching my 6105s (700-3500gph), but was still concerned about too much flow. I also have a set of nano 6025s (700gph) that I can use. So what powerheads should I use with these?

If your 6105s have controllers, use them turning down the flow to what works. I've got a pair of 6095s in a 29 gallon. I've got the flow at minimum and pulsing, and it's ok. I think 6105s in 80 gallons on the sweeps would be good.

6095s are smaller and maybe 6055? In any case, there are two controllable ones smaller than the 6105. They are physically smaller too.

Either of them would probably work as long as they have their controllers. 6095 and 6105 are close in their ratings. That's why I was using it as a comparison. 6095 is wide flow so max output is more limited. If I can run two 6095s in my 29 gallon coral QT, two 6105s will be fine in an 80 gallon. There is only a 172 gph difference at lowest flow. But I would guess the 6105s would end up being set about half way. There is a flow chart over on BRS in the description of the Tunze pumps.

I will take a look at the flow chart of the 6105s. They are bigger, but I do like the ability to have more flow than the 700gh that's on the 6025s. So as long as the 6105s aren't on pulse, I can set the flow to what would work best for the 80g cube?
