Anyone using a seaswirl?

Interested to hear the good and bad.

Thanks!

I use one at 3/4" Or 1" I am not sure. They work great.
What I don't like is it doesn't have a siphon break for when the power goes out. This makes the water drop another 2" down.

Thanks for the reply.

I would be using it on a closed loop pump so the siphon wouldnt be an issue! :)

watch for flow rating on the units

i had one in the past and they hang over the tank a lot more than you would thank

maybe someone can post a pic of how big they are i have used the 3/4 and the 1 inch

I heard they are bulky. But I am looking at Hydor Koralia powerheads as an alternative...which stick out a good 6" into the tank

As far as flow ratings...can you push near the limit, or do you need to back off from the flow limit?

I'm crazy about mine! No extra pumps, except a few small ones behind the rockwork. I've got it turned up all the way, as far as flow. Every inch of the tank is covered--bounces off the walls & into the corners. I didn't think it would fit w/6 T5 bulbs & seperaste reflectore, inside my canopy but it fits perfectly.

here is a pic...it is in the middle of the tank. This pic is from when I first set the tank up with water so it is cloudy.

I thought about one briefly. I decided, that it was too bulky and restrictive. Also the fact that I have eurobracing to deal with, it sticks out even farther into the tank. Why not an OM Squirt? I have also seen the korallias, good pump, but HUGE. Get a Tunze 6025... you'll never be upset with that purchase.

I thought it would be too bulky too, but nont of it shows under a canopy & I was atill able to retrofit 6 T5 bulbs & a fan in there too.
