I've had this large red seaweed plant growing on aquacultured live rock I bought a few weeks ago for my new reef. Is it safe for fish to eat?

Looks like what is simply called Red Marine Algae, commonly known as a sea vegetable which is a type of algae that grows abundantly in the ocean. It has been used by Chinese and Japanese cultures for centuries for its nutritional benefits. Gracilaria OGO would be a member of this seaweed

Interesting, I didn't know it was a macro algae. Do you know if it would be possible to transplant it into my fuge?

When I received diver collected rock from GOM, the liitle of macro I saw was ratty looking from heavy fish grazing. During the curating process, I saw many ornamental seaweeds (macro algae) emerge. It’s been 4 months since live rock was removed from GOM. In one tank 4 different red macro three of which are Halymenia emerged and covered/smothered other desirable inverts like Bryozone, tunicates, sponges and differrent colorful coralline algae.
