I got a sebae anemone yesterday and after acclimating him, he contracts in the light and only opens fully at night. I'm assuming its just acclimating to the lights, but it does seem a bit whiter than when I first got it. Is this normal, or should I be worried? I reduced my photoperiod. How fast should I increase it?

You need to decrease the intensity of the light and it is still acclimating to the tank.

What type of lighting ?
How old is your tank ?

Ah I see. I'm running metal halide 250W De phoenix. The tanks about 8 months old. I can't raise or lower the fixture.
