Second Chamber calcium reactor

what media do you put in the secondary chamber and how much of a difference does it make? Is it any different then letting the effluent drip over a cup of rocks?

I am getting a calcium reactor this week and want to get a second chamber so I am going to bump this up.

Could I use a RO/DI canister as a second reactor?

Looks like @Jlentz in post #5 above uses a BRS carbon reactor which is essentially an RO/€DI canister so I suppose it could work.

but then thinking about it, how would the effluent start from the bottom and go to the top? Seems like I would need a tube or something in there to have it go to the bottom to run through all the media.

Second chamber should use a fine media (I use ARM fine in mine). Is useful to help scrub out any residual carbonic acid.

I am using an avast marine reactor. I let them know I wanted to use it for a CaRx and they even changed out the fittings for me.

how do you covert the 1/2 push connector to a 1/4 push connector? where do you purchase the parts needed? appreciate the direction
