I'm sure similar questions must have been posted before, but I'm struggling to find a thread on this. I'm looking for a cheap light to add to my tank strictly for end of day viewing that is heavy on blue. I only plan to run it for an hour or two after my main light turns off so I can have lower intensity late in the day while still getting some more viewing in.

I currently have a Hipargero Aquarium Light –3rd Generation A029 that cost around $70. I'm satisfied with the light in general. I can control the brightness of the blue and whites independently, set start/stop, and it has ramp up/down for "sunrise/sunset". What I can't do is control the length of the ramp up/down or set different intensities across the day beyond the preset ramp up/down time. I don't want to extend the full strength setting any longer than it is (which is an option) but I would like a low powered light to keep running after it shuts down so I can view the corals after work. I find I have to choose between am or pm viewing currently.

I know there are much more expensive options that have more control, but I'm only doing softies and LPS right now so I don't want to shell out for high end. I assume there have to be some pretty cheap options I could just put on a basic timer to kick on at the same time the other is turning off. As I'm only looking to use this for a few hours per day and only for viewing not to grow the corals, I just want something cheap. No more than the $70 I paid for the first light. Thanks!

Something like this may work for your situation. Amazon has a few different options under glowfish lights. They clip on the frame of a glass tank though.
