Sediment Filter Clogging Quickly After Installing Booster Pump

Feel free to give us a call if you'd like to get it resolved.

Russ
Wow, thank you. I didn’t buy it from you, though. I feel like I’d be abusing your service. That’s very kind of you, but I don’t want you to think I bought it from you guys.

Understood. :)

There's always replacement filters...
Thanks for the help, Russ! Pleasure speaking with you, as well. That was a very insightful call.

I'll go ahead and do some trial and error to figure out what's clogging up.

I was also completely wrong about that initial sediment prefilter. It's a 50 micron, not 5 haha I'm going to pick up a 5 micron filter from you guys, and maybe some additional housings to add additional stages. It can't hurt to have them with the high sediment water we have here in NYC. I'll put the 5 micron after the 50 micron.

Thanks, again!

Can you elaborate on the "auto back flushing in intervals?" I'm not sure what that means, or why that would happen.

I think it may very well be the booster, as you can tell by touching it that it's running the entire time.
Real easy way to break that down, because I think you would know if you had that feature... Do you have a way to see your waste water line? If so, can you collect that water to see if when your pressure drops if that line speeds up dramatically

It definitely does not. The waste water also slows down quite dramatically.

OK, so the pump remains running and the pressure drops at both the waste and the output side. So this would be indicative of a pump issue or feed issue. I would lean more towards the pump for sure, even though they are usually bullet proof. But that would be your best opportunity. Depending on how bad your water quality is, i would try to put it in front of your sediment filter instead of behind it. This will let unclean water run through the pump, but my only other guess at this point is that the feed water is filling the sediment section, reducing its pressure to the pump. Now the pump does not have a high enough pressure pushing through it for it to work. Mine is before the filter as the first stage of the process from the feed line. It gets constant pressure and pushed the water through the filtration. If i remember correctly, yours is after the sediment.

Give that a shot and see if it solves the issue. If not, replace the pump and hopefully that solves it.
