How often do you go through sediment filters?

I think my water is super dirty because I changed mine about 5x over the last 2 months. The sediment filter is a rust brown every time I chanfe
It. Just wondering if im changing too soon.

Oh wow, do you live in Flint? I am assuming you are talking about the first stage sediment filter on your RO unit. Mine stays fairly clean but our water doesn't seem to have a lot of particulate just a lot of chlorine or chloramine in GA. Can you visibly see it is rust colored if you fill a glass from your tap? If so you just have really dirty county/city water.

I think my pipes are old. If I don’t use my spare bathroom bathtub for a while yes I can see visibility rusty water for about 5 seconds after I turn it on.

I’m burning through sediment filters like crazy.

I do end up with 0 TDS though. Guess ill Just have to blow through sediment filters
