I'm soon to upgrade my tank, from a 300l aquaone reefsys, to a 1000l custom. Cannot wait, and am going to do a build thread now I'll have a tank worth talking about!

I want to start getting things ready, and am thinking that I may aswell start to get some rock ready. Can I add a bunch of rock to my sump now and start it getting colonised without doing any damage to my tank? Sticking a bit of dry rock in the sump isn't gonna cause a cycle or anything is it? I'll throw some bacteria in at the same time.

It will be fine, I put fresh rocks in my sump and take mature ones out all the time.

If you have a lot of rocks, you can cycle them in a bucket. A powerhead, pinch of food, and bacteria, and let it go until you need it.
