Starting up a 180g tank with dry rock. I have a marinepure large block that’s been in my 150 sump for months. I also have two smaller ones I am going to throw in for a week. Do you think they can seed the new tank alone? Or do I need to add some bacteria in a bottle also? Also should I place blocks in sump again or inside tank for seeding until cycled. TIA

The blocks need to be in an area with some flow. I'd place them in the sump. And yes, I'd also dose with Dr. Tim's or BioSpira in the tank. Or, is your 150 a clean tank without parasites, algae problems, etc.? You could take some of the water from it and move it into the new 180. If you have confidence in the water quality. If not Dr. Tim's or BioSpira is a great starter.
