I'm going to be starting a new frag tank and want to make sure absolutely no pests get into this system. I'm going to start with all dry rock but hoping to jump start the new system with water from my existing system. My current system is clean assist from some glass anemones and vermetid snails (that I know of).

Would introducing my existing tank water to the new system through say a 5 micron sock be beneficial at all or will this remove too much of the bacteria and other life I'm trying to introduce?

This might help
Bacteria range in size from 0.2 to 2 microns in width or diameter and from 1 to 10 microns in length for the nonspherical specie, so a 1-micron filter will remove most bacteria and cysts.
