Hey folks, I have a question regarding seeding some rubble. I'm finishing a new setup and had some rubble leftover. I gave some rubble to a buddy to just let marinate a bit for some diversity and was wondering what do you guys think is a good amount of time to leave in his tank? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I would guess about a month. If it's in the light, I would say once you see corraline on it. There isn't a solid number of days but in my experience it's probably about a month to where it's getting different colors on it unless the tank is like mine in which everything turns purple within days lol

I would have loved to do this but alas, there are no reefers close to me. I would leave them in the tank for a month personally.

Get a bin and throw some rock with bacteria jnto it.
The goal isn't to just have nitrifying bacteria grow. It's meant more as a diversity thing to help develop the tank. I already have live rock from an old setup going in for that.. :)
