Seed's Custom 150G Euro Tank Build Thread

Hello,

New member here. Coming from some other forums to this one. Saw how BRS is active here with a review on a light and thought I'd move over here. I'm coming from Biocubes, to RedSea 130 to a Reefer 350 and more recently going full custom in a 150G measuring 48x30x24.

I went with a peninsula style shadow overflow and return and will plumb down into the basement where I have a 48G sump, a 75G rubbermaid tub as well as a 20G water change tank that I'll be plumbing over Thanksgiving break I hope.

I'm going to use a lot of the old stuff, sump, apex, MP40 heads and such. I might stick with my Kessil's 2x360WE but also like the Orphek Compact V4 as a potential replacement.

That is a clean looking tank. Very nice.

Is that 30" back to front or tall?

What are your stocking plans for coral and fish?

It's 30" front to back, 24" top to bottom. Im planning on the same as my 350, mixed reef, fish and LPS shrooms mostly. Im not a huge SPS fan, clams and anems.

I like deep dimension tanks. My newest tank is 30" deep as well.

Beautiful tank and stand, looking forward to seeing it progress. I love kessils (use 2 with ati sunpower and reefbrite on my 90), but boy are those atlantik v4s a well designed led. Best spectrum out of any light brs has tested and the spread/even distribution of an ati sunpower, count me in.....I think if I ever went full led I'd use those. I also saw a video jake Adams from reef builders did a while ago of this aquaculture facility that used them exclusively, in Australia I think, and they were getting amazing coloration and growth.

Sweet tank, do you have any updated pics? I'm also locking at purchasing 120gal from crystal Dynamic with the same style stand.

Hi,

Sorry, I don't have any updated pics. I got kinda sick and it kicked my butt for almost a year. I'm just starting to get my energy and strength to normal, so I think sometime in September I'll be able to start this project.

As far as the tank goes the communication with Crystal Dynamic and the tank itself was A+++ all around. I wouldn't hesitate working with them to get what you want.
