Hello everyone ,

For some reason it seems like my montipora are bleaching somewhat. My number seem fine and all other live stock it doing well...

Stats

PO4 0.05
Alk 9.24
Cal 465
Mag over 1500
Ph 8.10
Temp 79
Salt 1.026
NO3. 10

I use led lighting and have not changed their intensity at all ..

Any help would be greatly appreciated ...

Are they new additions or have they been in your system a while?
Pictures are also worth a thousand words sometimes as well....

Do you dose any trace elements?
Hard to guess with your parameters, they seem fine...

All I do is dose alk mag and cal from fritz and been doing for a while with no issues ....

Bleaching monti is usually do to lighting.
Any recent lighting changes? Like leaving lighting on longer than normal? Changing the white levels?

I have gotten my water very clear lately maybe more par in penetrating the water ? i'm going to try to lower the intensity a bit and see what happens..

Think I found out the cause of my monti’s bleaching , my MP40 wet side was cracked and the magnet was rusted leeching toxins into my display.

Hopefully he chimes in , but I don’t see how a rustining piece of equipment doesn’t leach coral killing toxins ....

I've heard about ecotech powerheads cracking and leaching metals causing corals to bleach and die. Google search it, there are stories.

Well, I think a lot of reefers have had magnets rust with no ill effects. I had a wet side fail like you and a mag 12 impeller also swell up from corrosion.
I could be wrong that is why I was asking Randy for his .02....

I saw them too but they really never had a definite smoking gun really, just a lot of unanswered questions.
