While ich can sometimes be managed by certain species (but not all), I would be more concerned about brook or velvet coming in on an un-QT'd fish. No management protocol exists for either of those diseases, and velvet can wipe out your entire fish population in roughly 72 hrs. And the sad part is just 2 weeks of isolation in a QT would probably save a DT from velvet, as symptoms tend to quickly surface with that disease.The fun of this hobby is to keep it simple if you are not comfortable using a qt than I say don't do it. I buy from good resourses and have never had a problem and I dont qt but if I ever got ich I would use the management system @Humblefish can tell you about this method to.
