A chargeback is when a buyer tries to have his or her credit card charge back a purchase made. In this case, Madreef sold me a decaying hockey puck that was supposed to be full of zoas. I tried communicating with him to no avail, so I filed a Paypal DISPUTE not a chargeback. As a matter of fact, I couldn't file a chargeback even if I wanted to because I paid via eCheck, not a credit card (I didn't notice that when I paid).

And yes, you are right about one thing... the "after receiving the item part". THAT IS IT. You are right because I did receive the "item"... a decaying hockey puck! How silly of me to actually buy and expect to receive LIVE CORALS!!!

I have photos of the coral open, healthy, and growing the day of shipping, in case anyone cares to see. I really dont need to prove anything in this situation. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Once a coral leaves my care I have no control over what happens to it. I will not refund a $100 18 polyp rasta fragment that died in your care.
I extended a great deal towards another fellow hobbiest, only to be verbally abused and harassed by you. I sent out 4 other healed rasta frags one was even delayed 24hours, all arrived alive and are doing fine. I'm not a business, I have no inventory, just a hobbiest trying to help other hobbiest with beautiful healthy tank grown corals at a reasonable price.

$155, not $100 and the coral did not die in my care. It arrived damaged & melted by the next day. They never opened, not once! You kept saying that & I kept correcting you. You are a liar and as I said before, I wouldn't buy a penny frag with free shipping from you!
Btw, I have pictures also. The only difference is mine were taken the day it arrived. God knows when you took yours!

Pardon me, what I should have said was you bought a $100 15+ polyp zoanthid frag of "Rastas" and payed $55 to have it shipped to your doorstep FedEx overnight.
The coral arrived by your own account in your PM, on the day of March 20th. It was only 5 days after that you had problems with the fragment, the PM is dated March 25th. If you check on my for sale threads you can see how I hold onto my frags for weeks, if not months before sending them out; something most retail vendors don't do. I make sure they are growing and healthy before they are sent.
I was never sent these DOA photos you are now mentioning, I was never notified that there was a problem with the shipment. I have never received any photos from you. You only notified me that the coral had stopped opening up and died in your care after several days of receiving it.
I will have the person who personally packed your coral chime in here because my credibility is on the line apparently, and I will defend it because I will not have these misnomers and false accusations be made without response.

I shipped this frag and when I packed it, it was a frag disc full of open and healthy Rasta zoanthids that had been fragged for no less than 6 weeks from the look of the growth. I've shipped literally thousands of packages containing tens of thousands of coral fragments. To my knowledge the package arrived on time with a message thanking Madreefer. Not until 5 days later did she contact Madreefer to say that they had melted (with no photo showing so).
$155 for 18 Rastas ($8.60pp shipped) is a steal to start off with, I'd say that proves Madreef isn't out to get anyone and I really don't know anyone that would offer any kind of guarantee after 5 days of no contact.
Sometimes zoas don't fair well in new water, that's just a fact in this hobby and if the problem isn't apparent after a couple days I don't think the seller can be blamed. If there's even a chance that there's a problem I would assume the buyer would contact the seller immediately, expecting anything after 5 days of them being in the tank just isn't realistic.
Though I am Madreef's friend, if he was at fault I would suggest he rectify the situation (though I wouldn't have to) and in this case with the facts that have been presented, I'd say he's in the clear. It sucks the coral died, that happens to everyone at some point in this hobby, but if it were the sellers fault he should have been contacted immediately, not 5 days later.

I don't see how Ian is allowed to post on this behalf & state what he thinks are "facts", which are not. He doesn't know anything for a fact since I didn't send him any pm's. He only knows what he's been told happened, which is not the entire truth. also Ian, it doesn't matter what kind of a deal someone gets, if they don't get what they paid for, it's still STEALING.
I don't have a lot of feedback here because I don't conduct much business here, but if anyone cares to see what kind of seller/buyer/honest person I am, feel free to look for my screen name on RC, eBay, PBMAS, FMAS, and N-R (I'm phishyaly on N-R). I recently purchased some frags from Ryan803 on here as well. Shipment was delayed & some frags didn't make it, but he was a gentleman about it. I have had nothing, but problems with this sale. Hopefully this can stand as public record as I've followed all standard procedures for coral sales. I'm not making any profit off my labors and expenses of having my aquariums. I do this to help others, but once an item leaves my care I can't control what happens to it, and will not guarantee the item when shipping is successful.
Considering Ian packed and shipped the coral, and given his hobby experience I would say his post is valid. I believe his opinion is also valid in the thread. If my credibility hadn't been attacked and harassed I would not brought him into this. I'm a very generous reefkeeper if you ask locals or the Ccrk club.

Dana my previous post contains facts, if I need to post actual photos, tracking information, and screen shots of dated PMs I will; but I hardly deem that necessary over $100 worth of coral. I've put in way more then $100 worth of my time into being civil and reasonable about this. If it were a larger dollar amount or if the facts were different I'd be rethinking my approach, but I did nothing wrong in the sense of my guarantee and what I sold was legitimate.
