Selling reef related photos

Hi all, just wanted to ask if anyone here has any idea on how much pictures typically cost?
There are a few people who wanted to use my photos for business/website and I don't know what's a fair price for it.

Photos in question are those found in my tank thread.

As the use will be for business website its fare to charge for those.
Looking at the quality of your stock and your picture taking you can charge as much as you feel is fare especially if it's a local website then you have a better idea on price variation in your country.
I've had a request for few of my pictures to be used in a book and only asked for name recognition...

I informed them that they could use any of my pictures without charge if it's for personal use.
But the other party insisted on purchasing since it would be used for business.

Emails were exchanged and we talked for a bit until the other party just stopped contacting.
Then a few weeks ago a lot of people messaged me informing me that there was a person using my photos, and it was without permission.

Talked to the guy, seems like he's sorry. Giving him the benefit of the doubt.

So that's the background story lol.

photos as good as yours should be watermarked and copyrighted.... just my opinion.

I would take a few bucks for pictures from businesses. Nothing crazy maybe 100 or something would be just principle really. Tank fund!

This is about the max I think you could go for most businesses. Sadly, it is what it is. This coming from a photographer.
You could look at what places like Getty Images would charge for full usage on any random pic, but it's going to be very hard to find someone willing to pay that.
Basically it comes down to the principal of the thing in this case. So $50-100 is fair. Win Win.

used to work at Art company and we paid Freelancers between $75-150.00.

Thanks for the replies! I was offered 20 pictures for $100.
I'd probably spend the all of it on his website but logistics of shipping to another country might be too difficult. Haha!

I don't mind people using my photos for enjoyment (I dont even think highly of my pictures - I just take the shots. No background in photography whatsoever haha), this incident just struck me because of the circumstances behind it.
